  Research Notes:

LEGACURRY or LEGAHORY

This is a townland in Lurgan Rural area of County Armagh, Ireland.

TOWNLAND

The townland is an ancient unit, dating back to pre-Norman times, and is the smallest administrative division throughout the island of Ireland that is still in use. It is the common term or English translation for a variety of small local land units that varied in name and meaning throughout the island of Ireland. The spelling of townland names is subject to considerable variation due largely to the difficulties of representing the pronunciation of Irish language names in English spelling. 13

  Medical Notes:

The cause of death was certified by Robert Skinner.

The informant was Sarah Feely, widow of the deceased, who had been present where her husband's death occurred. She gave notice before the registrar, Duncan Campbell, at Lesmahagow on 5 July 1873 and made her X mark. 4

James married Susan KEENAN, daughter of KEENAN and Unknown, on 10 January 1833 in Shankill RC parish, County Armagh, Ireland.1 (Susan KEENAN was born about 1815 and died before May 1842.)
