  General Notes:

'Roseanne Feely' was recorded by the 1851 census living at 93 Muir Street Hamilton with her husband, a daughter Mary, and two granddaughters Sarah and Margaret. Roseanne's age was recorded as 67 years and she had been born in Ireland.

In 1860 Rosie Feely was recorded as the mother of Mary Pheely who was marrying James Docherty.

The 1861 census for Carluke recorded a married couple, both born in Ireland, both in their 80s, called John and Rosana Feaily. John was 84 years and Rosana 85 years. Both were born in Ireland.

When John Feally died in 1861 he was recorded in his death certificate as a "Farm Labourer (married to Rosie Kinnichen)".

When she died in 1863, Rosa Kinnighan was recorded as "Widow of John Feely Farm labourer". Rosa was recorded as aged 91 years when she died. No information was recorded about her parents in her death certificate; 'Unknown to informant' was the phrase used in the certificate.

In the 1873 death certificate of her son James, Rosa was recorded as ' Rosa Feely MS Keelin'. ^{2 3 4 5 8}

When considering the years of birth of this couple, it should be remembered that people in pre-literate societies are said not to have the same concept of precise age, as each year passes, as people in societies where literacy and bureaucracy have greater influence.

Her son in law, George, (surname signed looks like 'Hughkie'), of Motherwell, parish of Dalziel, gave notice of her death before Ninian Moffat, registrar, at Hamilton on 13 October 1863. ¹

Rosa married John FEELY, son of Robert FEALLY and Margaret ROSS. (John FEELY was born about 1780 in Ireland ² and died 25 November 1861 at 8.30 pm in Dyke Row, Carluke, Lanarkshire, Scotland.). The cause of his death was old age.¹
