  General Notes:

The first recorded document we have for this Robert Feely is his 1828 marriage record in the parish register. It is likely he was in his twenties by that time.

Robert Feely was recorded as 'John Feely married to Rosa McGowan' in his daughter Ann's marriage certificate in 1855. It is virtually certain this is an oversight or misunderstanding on someone's part. His occupation was recorded as 'brick moulder'. He was deceased by then.

When his daughter Mary married in 1859, Robert Feely was recorded as a Labourer in her marriage certificate. He was deceased.

In 1864 Catherine Feeley's marriage certificate recorded her parents as 'James Feeley and Rosa Feeley MS Morgan'. Her father was dead then. His occupation was recorded as farm labourer. The same name of "James Feely" for Catherine's father was recorded again in her second marriage certificate in 1867. Her mother's maiden name was left blank, only "Rosie Feely" being entered. Robert seems to have died when his children were still young, and in common with the culture of the time they may not have had documents with the surnames and given names required by the authorities in the present age.

When his daughter Margaret married in 1870, Robert was recorded as an 'agricultural labourer deceased'.

In his wife's death certificate of 1871 Robert's occupation was recorded again as 'brick moulder'.

In his son Robert's death certificate in 1873 Robert senior's occupation was noted as coal miner.

In 1874 Catherine Feely's second marriage certificate recorded her parents' names as 'James Feely and Rosie Feely'. From other evidence it is highly probable that she belongs in this family.

In 1885 Robert's daughter, Ann, died, and in her death certificate Robert was recorded as a brickmaker.

Catherine Feely died in 1917. Her parents' names were recorded as 'James Feely general labourer deceased and Rose Feely MS McKeown deceased'. 6 9 10 11 12
