Cause of his death was senile debility.1 General Notes: The 1851 UK census for Clatt in Aberdeenshire recorded John Anderson as head of a household living at Hardgate. His household comprised himself, his wife Margaret, and their ten recorded children who ranged in recorded age from 19 years down to 1 year. John was a 'Carpenter (master-employing 2 Men); And Farmer Of 8 Ac (no Labourer)', according to the entry. He had been born in Belhelvie parish, Aberdeenshire, and was 54 years of age. John married Margaret HOME (DNA Link), daughter of Peter HOME in Mains of Tilliangus, (DNA Linked) and Christian STRACHEN (DNA Linked), on 15 March 1831 in Clatt parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. (Margaret HOME (DNA Link) was baptised on 8 October 1809 in Clatt parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland,2 died on 14 July 1902 in Waikari, Canterbury, New Zealand 3 and was buried on 17 July 1902 in Balcairn Cemetery, North Canterbury, New Zealand 4.).
