In 1861 the census for Govan parish recorded Rebecca McCall living at Stories Land, Strathbungo with her husband David. Rebecca was recorded as 19 years of age and had been born in Galston, Ayrshire. 1
Rebecca married David McCALL, son of David McCALL and Mary KIRKLAND, on 1 February 1861 in 2 Apsley Place, Glasgow, Scotland. (David McCALL was born on 12 July 1838 in Sorn, Ayrshire, Scotland and was baptised on 11 October 1838 in Sorn, Ayrshire, Scotland.)
Marriage Notes:
The marriage was performed after banns according to the forms of the Free Church of Scotland. The minister was Donald McKinnon. The witnesses were John Connel and Margaret Morrison.
David McCall, of 83 Cumberland Street, Glasgow, was an unmarried man of 20. He worked as a railway guard. His mother was deceased.
Rebecca Steven, of the same address, was also unmarried and aged 18. She was a domestic servant. Her mother, too, was dead. rebecca made her X mark.
The marriage was registered at Glasgow on February 2 1861, Nicol McDougall being the registrar.
