'Edna Haimes' was recorded by the 1851 census for Haddington living with her husband George and six children ranging in age from 9 to 22 years. She was recorded as 42 years of age and had been born in Gladsmuir East Lothian.

The 1861 census for Haddington recorded Elinor Haimes as 57 years of age, older than her husband. Her birthplace was Gladsmuir East Lothian.

In her death certificate of 1869 it was recorded that Eleanor was 'married to George Haimes', that is to say that she predeceased her husband. Her age was recorded as 65 years. Both of her parents were then dead. 3 7
