When William Gartshore died in 1961 his death certificate recorded him as "Coal Miner (Fireman) Retired married to Margaret White Ballantyne".

Margaret married William GARTSHORE, son of George GARTSHORE (DNA Linked) and Agnes WALKER (DNA Linked), on 4 July 1913 in Reformed Presbyterian Union, Alexander Street, Airdrie, Scotland.1 (William GARTSHORE was born on 11 March 1888 in Airdrie, Lanarkshire, Scotland 15 16 and died on 25 February 1961 in Coathill Hospital, Coatbridge, Lanarkshire, Scotland 15 17.). The cause of his death was occupational pneumoconiosis/broncho pneumonia and myocardial degeneration.6
