The 1841 census for Glenbucket Parish, Aberdeenshire recorded living at Drumnagarrow an Alexander William, aged in the 65-69 years range, and born in Aberdeenshire, who was a handloom weaver of woollens; and Elizabeth William, aged in the 20-24 years range and born in Aberdeenshire. No occupation was noted for Elizabeth.

At Drumnagarrow, Glenbucket parish in 1851:

When James William died in 1856, his death certificate recorded Alexander as a weaver and deceased.




In his son Arthur's death certificate of 1881, Alexander Williams [sic] was recorded as "Crofter and Wollen Weaver (Master)".




In the 1885 death certificate of his son Charles, Alexander Williams [sic] was recorded as a weaver. He was deceased by then.




When John Williams died in 1892 his father Alexander Williams was recorded as a Farm Overseer (deceased). 2 3 4 5 7 8 9


Alexander married Mary STRACHEN, daughter of James STRACHEN and Jean THOM.1 (Mary STRACHEN was baptised on 13 June 1773 in Glenbucket parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland 1 5 and died before 1841.)
