In the census of 1851 John Williams [sic], an agricultural labourer, was living in Yondertown in the parish of Forgue, Aberdeenshire, with his wife Penelope S. Alexander, his son Charles B. Williams and his younger son, Robert Williams.

In 1861 John and Penelope Williams were living in Castle Street, Huntly in Aberdeenshire. John was recorded as an agricultural servant. Their sons Charles and Robert lived with them.


John and Penelope were still living in Huntly in 1871, and their daughter Mary was there too:
