from 1841 UK Census

In the census of 1851 Arthur William, an agricultural labourer, and his family, were recorded living at Coulmore in the parish of Killearnan, Ross and Cromarty. Arthur was recorded as being born in Glenbucket and his wife as born in Ballater, both in Aberdeenshire. Their children were John William, aged 15 years, Alexander, aged 13 years, Margaret William, aged 11 years, George William, aged 9 years, and Charles William, aged 2 months.

Arthur and Barbara Williams were still living at Coulmore in 1861. The children recorded in their household were Margret aged 21 years, Charles aged 12 years, Robert aged 9 years, and Forbes Mitchell, aged 7 years. Arthur was a farm overseer.

In 1871 Arthur and Barbara Williams were living in Coulmore still, though Arthur was dscribed in the census entry as a farm servant rather than an overseer. Only their son Forbes and a 10 year old grandson James lived with them.

When the census of 1881 was taken Arthur Williams, a farm manager, was recorded living alone in Coulmore in Killearnan parish. he was recorded as 68 years old and had been born in Glenbucket, Aberdeenshire.

The 1881 death certificate of Arthur Williams [sic] recorded him as "Farm Manager Widower of Barbara Anderson". he was in fact in his seventies, but was recorded as 58 years old at death. His mother's name was mistakenly recorded as Ann Strachan; she and his father Alexander Williams [sic] were deceased. 1 3 4 5 6 7 8
