In 1861 Robert William continued to live at "Drumnagarrie" in Glenbucket parish with his sister Betty, as he had in 1851, but their father no longer was recorded in the family unit.
In 1871 and 1881 the census for Glenbucket recorded Robert William, aged 59 years in 1871, and 71 years in 1881, as a day labourer living at "Drumnagarry" and "Drumgangarrie" respectively.
