The 1841 census for Glenbucket Parish, Aberdeenshire recorded living at Drumnagarrow an Alexander William, aged in the 65-69 years range, and born in Aberdeenshire, who was a handloom weaver of woollens; and Elizabeth William, aged in the 20-24 years range and born in Aberdeenshire. No occupation was noted for Elizabeth.

In 1861 Betty William continued to live at "Drumnagarrie" in Glenbucket parish with her brother Robert, as she had in 1851, but their father no longer was recorded in the family unit.
