   Cause of her death was old age and disordered bowels of some years' duration.

   Other names for Jean were McKILLOP, Jane,6 McKILLOP, Jean, McKILLOP, Jeanie, MOFFAT, Jane 6 7 and MOFFAT, Jeanie.

  General Notes:

Jean was a twin of her sister Janet.

The 1841 census recorded that Jane lived with her sons and husband in Aitchison Street Airdrie. She was in the age range 40-44 years.

In the 1851 census Jean's maiden surname was given, and her age was given as 55 years old.

Jean died a widow, 'widow of a miner', at home in the late summer of 1859. She was 65 years. Both her parents were already deceased. 3 5 8 9

  Medical Notes:

James Paterson, surgeon, who had seen the deceased on 15 August 1859, certified the causes of death.

Daniel McKillop, Jean's son, notified the registrar, William Landless at Airdrie on 23 August 1859, of his mother's death.

The sexton, James Hendry, certified Jean's burial in New Monkland Churchyard.


Jean married Duncan McKILLOP on 20 February 1813 in Eastwood Parish, Renfrewshire, Scotland.1 (Duncan McKILLOP was born in 1789 in Ireland and died in 1851-1859.)
