  General Notes:

The birth certificate of Jane's son, Robert, in 1855, recorded that he was her first child. She was aged 19 years and had been born in Glasgow.

Jane Robertson was recorded by the 1861 census living with her husband and three children at 102 Possil Road Maryhill. Aged 25 years, she had been born in Glasgow. Her children were aged from 5 years to 2 months.

John and Jane Cavenahg [sic] were recorded living in Cranberry, Venango, Pennsylvania, by the US census of 1870. Both were recorded as aged 28 years old, John as born in Ireland, Jane as born in Scotland. They had five children: Robert, 11 years, John, 9 years, Barney, 7 years, Mary, 3 years, and James aged 7 months. The older children were recorded as born in Scotland, the younger two, Mary and James, as born in Pennsylvania. John worked as a coal miner, and Jane kept house.

In 1880 the "Canavagh" family were living in the township of Fairview, in Butler, Pennsylvania. The US census of that year recorded Jane as the mother keeping house for her family of six children, four of whom had been born in Pennsylvania. Jane herself was Scots born, as were her parents, and she was recorded as 40 years of age, two years younger than her husband, though previously their ages were usually the same.

No more has been found of Jane Robertson or Cavanagh after the 1880 census return. 9 12 16 17
