   Cause of her death was British cholera, said to be about 36 hours.³

   Another name for Mary was CAVANAGH, Mary Jane.²

This was the first child in the family whose given name included Mary.

Mary Jane Cavanagh [sic] was baptised on 3 March 1865 by Father John Duffy. Alice Michan was her baptismal sponsor.
Note: Mary Jane's birth date is indexed wrongly in the Roman Catholic records as 28 February 1864. This is a transcription error, based on the fact that one or two dates above her entry are listed with the year "1864" added to the day and month. However, where this occurs there is no ditto mark, and it is clear they are individual exceptions and apply to the late months of the previous year, October and December. The page is headed 1865 and most dates are January to early March.

John Robertson, uncle of Mary Jane, gave notice of her death before the registrar at Maryhill on 3 August 1865, and made his X mark. ^{2 3}
