  Marriage Notes:

The marriage took place after banns according to the rites and forms of the Roman Catholic Church. The priest was William McAvoy, Catholic clergyman of St Mary's Hamilton. The witnesses were Edward Curran of 5 Field Street Low Waters Hamilton, and Mary Mullen of 76 Townhead Street Hamilton.

Denis Curran was recorded as bachelor, aged 28 years, resident at 5 Field Street Hamilton. He was a colliery roadsman. His mother was deceased.

Mary McLeavy was a spinster aged 26 years and was a laundry worker. She lived at 76 Townhead Street Hamilton. Both of her parents were deceased.

The marriage was registered on 18 July 1922 at Hamilton. 1

Mary next married Gerald DIAMOND, son of John DIAMOND and Kate DUFFY, on 23 December 1952 in St Mary's RC Church, Hamilton, Lanarkshire, Scotland.2 (Gerald DIAMOND was born about 1894.)


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage was celebrated after banns according to the rites of the Roman Catholic Church. Alexander Hamilton, RC clergyman at St Mary's RC Church Hamilton was the celebrant. The witnesses were John and Maureen Donnelly of 141 Stanmore Road Glasgow.

Gerald Diamond was a widower aged 58 years. He was a weightsman in a steel works, and lived at 115 Thornburn Avenue Bellshill. His parents were deceased.

Mary McLeavy or Curran was 57 years old and widowed. She lived at 11 Kenmar Terrace Hamilton. No occupation for her was noted. Her parents were both deceased.

The marriage was registered at Hamilton on 24 December 1952. 2
