QUIGLEY, James
Cause of his death was typhus over 14 days. Other names for James were QUIGLY, James, TWEEDLIE, James, TWEEDLY, James 4 and TWIGLEY, James. General Notes: The 1851 census records James and Martha Quigley and their four children, aged from 7 to 4 months, living at 4 Buchanan Court in the new suburb of Laurieston, south of the river Clyde. James was aged 30 years. He was a labourer in a foundry. All of the family except the two youngest children listed were born in Ireland. Medical Notes: Robert McNab MD certified the cause of death. James married Martha ROSS in 1843 in County Derry, Ireland.1 (Martha ROSS was born about 1823 in County Derry, Ireland, died 13 July 1858 at 7.45 am in 35 King Street, Calton, Glasgow, Scotland 8 and was buried in Southern Necropolis, Glasgow, Scotland 8.). The cause of her death was puerperal fever over 13 days. James next married Jean PORTER on 15 April 1859 in Blythswood, Glasgow, Scotland.2 (Jean PORTER was born in 1835 in Dove Hill, Glasgow, Scotland.) Marriage Notes: The poor relief application stated that the Rev Mr Gault married Jean and James Quigley on 15 April 1859. 2 |
