Cause of his death was typhus fever.3 4 Another name for Alexander was SANDILANS, Alexander.5 General Notes: In UK and US Directories 1680-1830, made available by Ancestry.co.uk, a man called Alexander Sandilands was listed in Edinburgh, in 1815, 1816, and 1817 in The Post-Office Annual Directory, from Whitsunday 1815, to Whitsunday 1818. He was resident in Edinburgh and working as a smith. He was located at Toddrick's Wynd in the town. Research Notes: THANKS Alexander married Isabel SCOTT, daughter of William SCOTT and Janet JACK, on 27 July 1805 in Canongate, Edinburgh, Scotland.
