SANDILANDS, Andrew 1

  • Born: About 1827, Midlothian, Scotland

  General Notes:

Andrew Sandilands was recorded by the 1841 census living at 6 Newport Street Edinburgh, with four (possible) siblings, an older woman, Isabella Sandilands, and a young child of 2 years, Alexander Nisbet. His birth county was Midlothian and his age was 13 years. No occupation was recorded for Andrew.

The 1851 census for St Cuthbert's Parish Edinburgh recorded Alexander Sandilands at the head of a household that lived at 4 Ponton Street, Edinburgh. The household consisted of Alexander, his wife, their four small children and Andrew Sandilands, denoted as 'brother in law' possibly on information given by the woman of the house, and probably this Andrew Sandilands, Alexander's brother. Andrew was recorded as aged 22 years and born in Edinburgh. He was a smith by trade.

No further information about Andrew Sandilands has been found as yet.
