In 1851 both Peter Home and Margaret Forbes, later his wife, were recorded working at Boggieshalloch in the parish of Tullynessle and Forbes. Peter was an agricultural labourer, born in Clatt, and aged 33 years; Margaret was 18 years old, born in Alford and worked as a servant.
Peter Home notified the registrar of the birth of his daughter Eliza Ann in 1859. He was a farm servant.
In the parish of Tullynessle and Forbes, Aberdeenshire, Peter Holme [sic] was recorded by the 1861 census as head of a small household living at Manse Cottage. In the household lived Peter, his wife Margret Holme, and their two children. Peter had been born in Clatt parish and was recorded as 42 years. He worked as a farm servant.
The 1871 census for the parish of Tullynessle and Forbes parish recorded Peter Home, his wife Margaret Forbes [sic] and their daughter Eliza living at Manse Cottage. Peter was 55 years old, born in Clatt parish and worked as an agricultural labourer. Margaret was 37 years old and born in Alford; Eliza was 11 years old and born in Tullynessle.
In 1873 when his son Peter was born, Peter Home was the informant of his birth. he was recorded as a farm servant, and present where the birth occurred.
When Peter died in 1881 his death certificate recorded him as an agricultural labourer married to Margaret Forbes. His recorded age at death was 65 years. No parental information was given.
When Margaret Home died in 1900, her death certificate recorded her as 'widow of Peter Home farm servant'. Peter was recorded of the same occupation in the marriage certificate of his daughter in 1894, and in the death certificate of his son Peter in 1903. 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

William Home, Peter's son, of 6 South Elgin Street Edinburgh, gave notice of his father's death before the registrar at Tullynessle, James McC. Pithie, on 24 May 1881.
Peter married Margaret FORBES on 21 November 1852 in Clatt parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.1 (Margaret FORBES was baptised on 25 September 1833 in Alford parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland 5 and died 27 January 1900 at 10.00 am in Manse Cottage, Tullynessle & Forbes, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.). The cause of her death was pneumonia over 10 days.4
