25 October
James Home Pitmachie had a son baptized before the Congregation named Alexander"

When Ann Home, Alexander's wife, died in 1860 she was recorded simply as the 'widow of a farmer'. 2 3 4 5

Noted events in his life were:

1. Witness at baptism: of Mary Home, 8 March 1811, Clatt parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. 1

2. Witness at baptism: of Jean Home, 2 July 1807, Clatt parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. 1

Alexander had a relationship with Margaret HARDIE. (Margaret HARDIE was born about 1785.)

Alexander next married Anne REID.1 (Anne REID was baptised on 23 March 1792 in Clatt parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland,2 died 18 May 1860 at 2.30 pm in Mill of Williamston, Culsalmond Parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland 6 and was buried in Clatt Churchyard, Aberdeenshire, Scotland 6.). The cause of her death was consumption for years.

  Marriage Notes:

No marriage record for this couple has been found.

The text of Katharine Home's baptism record in Clatt parish register in 1818 referred to her as 'lawful' child of her parents. This means her parents were married before her birth. A marriage between Alexander Home and Anne Reid therefore did take place.

It may have taken place in an Episcopal church rather than in the Established Church of Scotland, or it may have been a private ceremony, not recorded in the church registers. 1
