Margaret married Sir Robert FORBES of Newton, son of William FORBES of Menie and Craigievar, 'Merchant Willie of Danzig' and Margaret UDWARD.1 (Sir Robert FORBES of Newton was born about 1612.) Marriage Notes: "Robert Forbes. second son of 'Merchant Willie,' 1st of Craigievar, is variously designed as of Newton, Disblair (which he only held for 7 years), and Ludquharn. He was tutor to his young nephew, the 2nd Baronet, who succeeded his father in 1648. Robert married Margaret, daughter of Alexander Lindsay of Meanie and Williamston, and had a son William, who succeeded, and a daughter Margaret, who married Thomas Fraser of Cairnbulg, son of Lord Fraser." |
