  General Notes:

When Daniel was born in 1903 his father James Lynch, who was present, gave notice of his birth before the registrar, James Brown, at Blantyre on 9 May 1903. Daniel's birth certificate also stated that his parents had been married in Hamilton on 10 July 1891. In fact the date of their marriage was 17 July 1891.

The 1911 census for Blantyre recorded James Lynch, a widower, living in a dwelling with one windowed room at 69 Dixon Street with four children aged from 7 years to 16 years. Daniel Lynch was the youngest child living with him and was 7 years old and born in Blantyre. He was school.

Daniel was a witness at the burial of his father, James, in Bulli, New South Wales, on 26 June 1929.

The Australian Electoral Rolls, 1903-1980, recorded in the 1949 lists a Daniel Lynch, a Mary Lynch, and a Daniel Lynch Junior registered at number 3 Parker Street, Northbridge, North Sydney. Daniel Lynch was a police constable; Daniel Lynch Junior was a clerk; and Mary Lynch was occupied with home duties.

No death in Australian records has been found for Daniel up to 1975. 3 5 6


Daniel married Mary McCORMICK, daughter of Henry McCORMICK and Susan WHITTERS, on 16 May 1925 in St Joseph's Church, Bulli, Bulli Shire, New South Wales, Australia.1 2 (Mary McCORMICK was born about 1903 in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland 1 and died in 1998 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.)


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage was celebrated according to the rites and forms of the Roman Catholic Church. The celebrating priest was Peter John Power, and the witnesses were Andrew Lynch and Mary McKay.

Daniel Lynch was an unmarried man aged 22 years. He worked as a policeman and lived in North Sydney, New South Wales. He had been born in Lanarkshire, Scotland.

Mary McCormack was also unmarried, and aged 22 years. She worked as a domestic and resided in Bulli. She too had been born in Lanarkshire, Scotland.

The marriage was registered on 20 May 1925, at Bulli, by the District Registrar, F. Scroofe. 1
