Cause of his death was chronic bronchitis, interstitial pneumonia and congestive cardiac failure.2

The 1901 census for Blantyre, where he had been born, recorded Peter as 8 years old and a scholar.
In 1951 Peter was the informant of his mother's death in Blantyre. His own address then was noted as 81 Hillhouse Road, Hamilton.
When Peter Kelly died in 1963 he was recorded as 71 years of age. His usual residence was 140 Hillhouse Road Burnbank Hamilton. He was a retired coal hewer. He had been married twice, first to Bridget Gowran, and secondly to "Jane Baillie by right Johnstone". His stepson Rod Mathieson, of 66 Jameson Avenue, Bo'ness, gave notice of his death. 1 2
