   Cause of her death was cardiogenic shock, cardiac failure, obesity and immobility.3

  General Notes:

Isabella's father, James Gebbie, was the informant of her birth in 1900. Isabella was named for her paternal grandmother and her great grandmother.

In 1901, while she was still under a year old, Bella Gebbie was listed with the rest of her family at their home in 17 Moore Street, Hamilton. She had been born in Hamilton.

Isabella Gebbie was recorded as 10 years old in the 1911 census for Hamilton.

The death certificate in 1990 of Isabella Robertson Cowan Gebbie recorded that she had been born on 20 April 1900 and was 90 years of age when she died, that she was widowed, and that her usual address was 127 Randolph Drive, Clarkston. Naturally, both of her parents were deceased. 2 3 4

The medical practitioner who certified the causes of death was Gillian McKnight.

John P. Brown, son of the deceased and of the same address, gave notice of his mother's death before the registrar, B.A.Miller, on 27 August 1990. 3


Isabella married James Moir BROWN, son of John BROWN and Elizabeth MOIR, on 30 January 1924 in Barony Parish Church, Glasgow, Scotland.1 (James Moir BROWN was born in 1900 1 and died before 25 August 1990 1 3.)


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage was performed according to the forms of the Church of Scotland. John White DD, minister of the Barony, was the officiating minister. The witnesses were William McCubbin Gray of 45 Ardgowan Street Glasgow, and Rebecca Tweedley Gebbie of Cadzow, Hamilton.

James Moir Brown was an unmarried man of 23 years of age. He lived at 5 Bellgrove Street Cadzow, Hamilton. He worked as a chauffeur. His mother was deceased.

Isabella Robertson Cowan Gebbie, who signed herself Isa Gebbie, was also unmarried, and aged 23 years. She lived at 65 Ardgowan Street, Glasgow. She worked as a 'tablemaid (domestic servant)'.

The marriage was recorded on 2 February 1924 at Glasgow, 1
