BROWN, James Moir ¹

James married Isabella Robertson Cowan GEBBIE, daughter of James GEBBIE and Margaret QUIGLEY, on 30 January 1924 in Barony Parish Church, Glasgow, Scotland.¹ (Isabella Robertson Cowan GEBBIE was born 20 April 1900 at 4.30 am in 17 Moore Street, Cadzow, Hamilton, Lanarkshire, Scotland ³ and died 25 August 1990 at 6.30 hrs in Mearnskirk General Hospital, Newton Mearns, Renfrewshire, Scotland.). The cause of her death was cardiogenic shock, cardiac failure, obesity and immobility.

The marriage was performed according to the forms of the Church of Scotland. John White DD, minister of the Barony, was the officiating minister. The witnesses were William McCubbin Gray of 45 Ardgowan Street Glasgow, and Rebecca Tweedley Gebbie of Cadzow, Hamilton.

James Moir Brown was an unmarried man of 23 years of age. He lived at 5 Bellgrove Street Cadzow, Hamilton. He worked as a chauffeur. His mother was deceased.

Isabella Robertson Cowan Gebbie, who signed herself Isa Gebbie, was also unmarried, and aged 23 years. She lived at 65 Ardgowan Street, Glasgow. She worked as a 'tablemaid (domestic servant)'.
