  General Notes:

Jane Quigley was recorded in 1860 with her husband and six children, living at Lake River in Clark County in Washington Territory USA. Her age was noted as 24 years, oddly since her eldest son whose name follows immediately after hers was inscribed as 13 years old! Obviously a clerical error, as from other sources it is know her age should have been 34 years. Her birthplace was Ireland. Her occupation, like her husband, was noted as 'farmer'.

The 1871 Washington State and Territorial Census for Clark County, Washington Territory, recorded Jane Quigley, Arthur's wife and seven of their children. Jane was recorded as a white female, 44 years old and born in Ireland with parents of non U.S. birth.

Jane and her husband and three sons were recorded in the 1880 US census living in District 3, Clark County, in the state of Washington. She was recorded as aged 50 years and born in Ireland, as were her parents. Her occupation was noted as 'keeping house'.

When Jane died in 1884, her age was recorded as 59 years. The inscription on the memorial stone in her honour reads:
"Jane Quigley, Born in the town of Tyrone Carrican, Ireland, in the year of 1826, Died Sept 6, 1884, Aged 59 years 11 months 10 days. Mother is dead, Oh kiss the pale face. No being on earth can take her place." 3 5 6
