The 1871 Washington State and Territorial Census for Clark County, Washington Territory, recorded Sarah J. Quigley, a white female, 12 years old and born in Washington Territory with parents of non US birth.
The US Census of 1880 recorded a 'Sarah J. Neer' who was aged 21 and born in Washington Territory. Her father was born in Scotland and her mother in Ireland. Sarah had 2 small children and kept house. The family lived at Union, in Columbia County, Oregon. 2 3
