The 1885 Washington Territory census recorded Arthur Quigley, his son Peter Quigley and his son-in-law Lewis Damphoffer, living side by side in Washington Territory. The census page does not specify any ther geographical details but the assumption is it is still Clark County. peter was recorded as a 16 year old white male, of no occupation, who had been born in Washington Territory.

He was a labourer in a logging camp, aged 29 Years, having been born in December 1870. he had been born in the state. His father was recorded as born in Scotland, his mother in Ireland.
