Test. Dative of George Grant

Testament Dative and Inventory of a certain sum of money which pertained and was due and resting to the deceased George Grant residing lately in Overtown of Easter Elchies at the time of his death which happened the (blank) day of (blank) made and given up by John Grant residing in Easter Elchies lawful son of the said Defunct and Executor Decerned to him by the Commissary of Moray upon the twenty fourth day of September last qua nearest of kin under protestation (these two words written in larger form than those around them) that the said Executor shall have retention in his own hands out of the first and readiest of the Defunct's subjects of the expence of his funeral preferable and priviledged Debts of the expence of this confirmation and generally of all other expence which he has or may deburse in the Execution of the office of Executor any manner of way Imprimis The said Executor under protestation foresaid Gave up and Granted and Confessed that there was due and resting to the said Defunct at the time of his death the sum of Five pounds Sterling being a part of the principal sum of Twenty pounds Sterling and interest due thereon contained in a Bill dated the Thirteenth day of April one Thousand seven hundred and Eighty nine payable one year after date drawn by Helen Grant in Overtown of Easter Elchies upon and accepted by Sir James Grant of Grant Baronet to which Bill and Sums the said deceased George Grant acquired right as Executor confirmed by the Said Commissary to the said Helen Grant upon the ('said' in brackets and crossed out) Sixteenth day of January Seventeen hundred and ninety three and to which Sum the said John Grant as Executor foresaid has right
