"Sibbald, in his History of Fife, designs the next laird by the name of Andrew. Sibbald seems to have had access to information not now available, and can be proved to be correct in various matters concerning the Wardlaws. Andrew Wardlaw of Wilton married 'Christian de Valoniis, daughter and heiress of Sir James de Valoniis, Knight, Lord of Inchgalle,' and of Christian, his wife. Christian de Valoniis brought great possessions to the Wardlaws, which included the barony of Wester Lochore, the lands and barony of Torrie, and one-third part of the lands of Rossyth."
