Henry married Christian LAUDER co-heiress, daughter of Sir John LAUDER younger, of The Bass and Katherine DE LANDELLS.1 (Christian LAUDER co-heiress was born about 1411.)


  Marriage Notes:

"Sir Henry Wardlaw of Wilton and Torrie almost certainly married Christian Lauder, daughter of John Lauder and Katherine Landell, and granddaughter of Sir Robert Lauder, Knight .... Christian Lauder was one of four sisters, co-heiresses of their mother, Katherine Landell, who must have died before June 1421 ; John of Lauder, her husband, was also dead at this time, when he is designed 'the late John of Lauder, spouse of the said late Katherine. Katherine Landell was the owner of the baronies of Hownam, Crailing, Swinside, and other lands in Roxburghshire,' and the sisters were heiresses of a fourth part of each. They had sasine of these lands 22 August 1424 They were also co-heiresses of their grandfather, Sir Robert Lauder, Knight, in his lands of Aldcathy, to which they had a retour of service dated at Edinburgh 23 October 1436."
