  Marriage Notes:

John Hamilton, styled variously of Samuelston and of Clydesdale, was also an illegitimate son of the first Earl of Arran. The date of his birth is not certain, but he married shortly after 24 August 1531 Janet Home, only daughter and heiress of Alexander, third Lord Home, who brought with her the estate of Samuelston, in East Lothian."
