Margaret had a relationship with Sir James STEWART 'Hearty', Earl of Buchan (3rd creation) and Lord Auchterhouse, son of Sir James STEWART Black Knight of Lorn and Joan DE BEAUFORT. (Sir James STEWART 'Hearty', Earl of Buchan (3rd creation) and Lord Auchterhouse was born about 1440 and died in 1499.)

"He (James Stewart) had also several natural children by Margaret Murray, widow of William Murray. Some of these were legitimated by royal charter, and one of them, James, legitimated in 1488-89, was ancestor of the Earls of Traquair. Another, Agnes, was married to Adam, Earl of Bothwell."
