  General Notes:

Eleanor Haimes was recorded by the 1861 census living in Haddington with her brother, sister, and parents. She was 5 years of age and had been born in Hawick, Roxburghshire.

The informant of the death of Jane Deans in 1897 was her daughter 'Essie Haimes'. She may have been this woman.

Eleanor Steven was recorded as 45 years of age by the 1901 census for Uphall where she lived at no 15 Roman Camp with her husband and six children and one boarder. Her children were aged between 4 and 17 years. Eleanor's birthplace was noted as Hawick Roxburghshire.

When Eleanor Haimes died in 1927 she was recorded as aged 71 years and married to John Steven general labourer. 4 5 7

George Haimes , of Johnes (?) Cottage, a son of the deceased woman, gave notice of her death before the registrar R.R Forrest at Broxburn on January 22 1927. 4


Eleanor married John STEVEN in 1878 in Haddington, East Lothian, Scotland.1 (John STEVEN was born about 1854 in Tannadice, near Forfar, Angus, Scotland 3 5 6 8 and died after 27 January 1927.)
