Charles married Jean GORDON, daughter of Patrick GORDON of Harlaw and Rachell LESLIE, in 1709.1 (Jean GORDON was born about 1686.)


  Marriage Notes:

Charles (Lumsden), the second son, married in 1709 Jane Gordon, and with her got the estate of Harlaw. He became a litster (dyer) in Aberdeen, and seems to have prospered. The value of his property at his death in 1720 is said to be £23,296, 3s. 4d. Scots. He had two sons - John, who died young, and David, who went to Jamaica, made a fortune, and died there unmarried - and four daughters."

Charles next married Elizabeth GORDON, daughter of James GORDON tenant of Mill of Auchindoir and Unknown.2 (Elizabeth GORDON was born about 1695.)

"This stone is placed to the memory of Francis Lumsden, some time farmer in Belchery, who died January 6th 1804, aged 78 years, by Margaret Donald his spouse. Also Charles Lumsden, aged 85 years, and Elisabeth Gordon, aged 60, his Parents."
