No mother's name is recorded in the 1724 baptism record for John Lumsden. From other sources it is known that the mother of Francis, his younger brother, baptised in 1726, was Elizabeth Gordon, and since there is a fairly large gap betwen John and his older siblings, it may be supposed that Elizabeth was the mother of John too. ¹
