Agnes married John LUMSDEN of Auchindoir, son of Robert LUMSDEN 7th of Cushnie and Agnes LEITH, about 1684 in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.1 (John LUMSDEN of Auchindoir was born in 1646,1 died on 8 January 1716 1 and was buried in 1716 in Kildrummy Churchyard, Aberdeenshire, Scotland 3.)

  Marriage Notes:

"We must now return to John, the second son of Robert Lumsden of Cushnie (No. XII.) He was born in 1646, and married Agnes Gordon of Auchlyne (niece of Gordon of Knockespock, to which property her brother George succeeded). He must have made money in some way, for he purchased Corrachree (which he afterwards sold to his brother James) as well as the lands of Auchindoir and Mill of Birkenbruel ; and he is always styled 'of Auchindoir.' "

"He died 8th January, 1716, leaving two sons, Harry and Charles, and two daughters - Marjory, who married Arthur Anderson of Candacraig, and Mary, married to the Rev. W. Brown of the Scotch Episcopal Church."

from Families of Lumsden

"Auchindoir. - John Lumsden of the Cushnie family, who also bought Corrachree, seems at the time of this valuation to have been a heritor in the parish 'within Terpersie's interest,' and is called 'Terpersie alias John Lumsden'. His valuation is £180. John Lumsden of Corrachree married Agnes, daughter of John Gordon ot Auchlyne, and had a daughter who married John Cattanach of Bellastraid, whose brother married the granddaughter of George Gordon of Terpersie (Scottish Notes and Queries, second series, iv., 110)." (page 190)

"Helen Gordon married George Cattanach (1733-1821) in Drumnahive and then in Mossat, Kildrummy, son of John Cattanach; tenant in Bellastraid, Logie Mar, whose other son John married the daughter of 'Lumsden of Corrachree,' probably the John Lumsden who married Agnes, daughter of John Gordon of Auchlyne (Scottish Notes and Queries, second series, vol. iv., p. 110).
