from Terpersie

"1634, Jany. 13. Registration of sasine dated Dec. 2, 1633, of James Gordon, apparent of Knockespock, and Jean Bisset, his future spouse, of Knockespock, in Kirktoun of Clatt, on a charter by George Gordon of Terpersie, dated at Clatt Dec. 2. A witness to it is James Gordon, 'nepote' of the said George Gordon of Terpersie (Particular Register of Sasines, Aberdeen, viii. f. 412)."

from Gordons of Cairnfield

"George Gordon of Terpersie ... was son of William of Terpersie, the fourth son of James Gordon of Lesmore (pp. 78-9). George was apparently son of the first marriage of William of Terpersie, whose second wife, Elspet, daughter of George Gordon of Tilphoudie, was the relict of John Forbes of Brux. This lady, after the death of Terpersie, married William Innes of Calrossie, in Ross (MS. Pedigree, circa 1589). On 30th August 1602, Alexander Gordon of Lesmore granted a charter to his cousin, George Gordon of Terpersie, and George, his second lawful son, of the lands of Old Leslie. In 1618, George Gordon of Terpersie had Sasine on the town and lands of Ardlair; and, on 7th July following year, he granted a Reversion of the east half of the Kirktown of Clatt to James Gordon of Knockespock (Aberdeen Sasines, vol. i., 11). He was succeeded by his son, William, who, together with his brother, John, is also a witness. In 1630, there is procuratory of resignation for William Gordon of Terpersie, and John and Henry, his sons, they having obtained the superiority of the lands of Leslie and Leith-hall from John, Earl of Mar (Ibid.)."

from Records of Aboyne 2 3

George married Margaret OGILVY, daughter of Sir John OGILVY fiar of Inverquharity and Helen OGILVY.1 (Margaret OGILVY was born about 1562.)

  Marriage Notes:

"George Gordon, II. of Terpersie, who is said to have died 'in peace,' 1634 (Balbithan MS.), married according to the same authority the 'Laird of Inverquharities daughter Ogilvy'. Terpersie and his wife, 'Margaret Ogilvy,' were among the 130 defendants against whom John Earl of Mar successfully raised an action in the Court of Session in 1628 for the reduction of the charters of certain lands held by them. This probably refers to the superiority of Leith Hall and Leslie, which his son William and the latter's sons obtained, presumably by purchase, from the Earl of Mar in 1630 (Records of Aboyne, p. 201)."
