  • Died: Before 30 March 1851

Another name for John was McCONNELL, John.1 2

  General Notes:

John was a mason by occupation according to the information recorded in his wife's death certificate in 1864. The information was provided by their grandson John Kierney.

In 1874 when his son Martin McConnell [sic] died John's occupation was noted in Martin's death certificate as a general labourer. However this information was given to the registrar by a neighbour, William Kennedy, who made his X mark. It is possible then that the information was less accurate than it might have been.

John was a stonemason, according to the death certificate of his son Anthony in 1888. He was deceased then.

John McConnell's daughter Ann died in 1892 in Dundee. John was deceased himself by then, and this was recorded in his daughter's death certificate, as was John's occupation: journeyman mason. 1 2

John married Sarah HAMMILL. (Sarah HAMMILL was born about 1785 in Ireland and died 1 March 1864 at 0.20 am in 4 Rosehall Colliery, Old Monkland, Lanarkshire, Scotland.). The cause of her death was debility from age.
