General Notes:
The 1851 census for Old Monkland, Lanarkshire, recorded Ann McInnie with her husband and two children living in Back Street, Coathill. She was 27 years old and had been born in Ireland.
The 1861 census for Old Monkland recorded Ann McKinney living at Rosehall village. She was head of the household, a married woman, aged 42 years, who was a pithead worker. She had been born in Ireland. She had four children living with her, as well as her aged mother, in a dwelling with one windowed room. No husband was resident there.
The 1881 census for Dundee recorded Ann Kenny living at 58 Kemback Street, Dundee, with her daughter Catherine Kenny. Ann was recorded as 66 years of age and was a widow. Her place of birth was 'Armaugh' Ireland.
When Ann Kenney died in 1892 in Dundee, her death certificate recorded her as 'widow of Henry Kenney coal miner'. The recorded age at death was 69 years. Both of her parents were by then deceased. 1 2 3

Catherine Kenney, a daughter of the deceased who had been present where the death occurred, gave notice of her mother's death before the registrar, James Murray, at Dundee on 22 July 1892. 3

(Henry KINNEY was born about 1819 in County Armagh, Ireland,2 5 died 17 April 1855 at 6.00 pm in 4 Rosehall Colliery, Old Monkland parish, Lanarkshire, Scotland 1 3 5 and was buried on 18 April 1855 in Old Monkland Churchyard, Coatbridge, Lanarkshire, Scotland 5.). The cause of his death was burns from fire-damp explosion over 8 days.3
