   Cause of his death was carcinoma of the colon, cachexia, anuria, and heart failure.4

   Another name for Alexander was NISBET, Sandy.5

  General Notes:

The 1871 census for Edinburgh St Giles recorded Alexander living at 1 Milne Square with his family. He had been born in Edinburgh.

Alexander was recorded in the 1881 census for Edinburgh living with his parents and family at 5 Brown Street. He was at school and recorded as aged 14 years. He had been born in St Cuthbert's parish in Edinburgh.

The 1891 census for Bathgate, Linlithgowshire, recorded Alexander Nisbet living at 39 Mid Street. He worked as an iron moulder and was recorded as 24 years of age.

The 1901 census for Edinburgh, recorded Alexander Nisbet living at 21 Beaverbank Place. He worked as an iron moulder and was recorded as 34 years of age.

Alexander Nisbet died in 1939. His recorded age at death was 72 years. His death certificate recorded him as a retired ironmoulder who was the widower of Margaret Pugh. He died in hospital and his usual residence was noted in the death certificate as 18 Bilston Street, Loanhead. His parents were deceased. 2 4

Robert P. Nisbet, son of the deceased. of 6 Summerhall Square, Edinburgh, gave notice of his father's death before the registrar, P. D. Robinson, at Edinburgh on 22 December 2009. 4


Alexander married Margaret PUGH, daughter of Robert PUGH and Ellen FREEBORN, on 18 November 1887 in Sidney Hall Congregational Church, 4 West Newington Place, Edinburgh, Scotland.1 2 3 (Margaret PUGH was born on 9 February 1868 in Edinburgh parish, Edinburgh, Scotland 6 and died before 22 December 1939 4 7.)


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage took place according to the forms of the Congregational Church. A.D. Robertson, Minister of Sidney Hall Congregational Church, Edinburgh presided. The witnesses were Alfred Kidson and Margaret Muir.

Alexander Nisbet was 19 years old, a bachelor, and lived at 20 Gifford Park Edinburgh. He was an iron moulder by trade.

Margaret Pugh was also single, aged 19 years, and of the same address. She was a domestic servant.

The marriage was registered at Edinburgh on 24 November 1887.

Note:
"The church meeting in Sydney Hall was formed in 1878 by members of a meeting held in that hall for some time prior to that year, and the first pastor was the late Mr. A. D. Robertson."
