  General Notes:

Patrick's father, James Hamill, was the one who notified the authorities of his birth. He signed the register before William Richard, registrar, at Holytown on 20 June 1892.

In 1901 Patrick was 8 years old, according to the census. He was living in Chapelhall, where he had been born. His father was now deceased and his mother was head of the household. His two brothers and two half brothers lived at home too. Like John and Hugh he was a scholar.

In 1911 Patrick Hammill was recorded by the census living with his mother and brother and their two half-brothers in Main Street Chapelhall. He was 18 years old and single, born in Bothwell parish Lanarkshire. He worked as a "Colliery Horse Keeper" below ground.

Patrick was one of the witnesses at the marriage of James McGunnigle, his half brother, in 1913.

Patrick Hamill died in 1970, at the recorded age of 77 years. He had remained single and was a retired railway worker according to his death certificate. His parents were recorded as deceased. 1 2 3 4 5
