Cause of his death was debility.6 General Notes: The 1851 census for Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, recorded William Garven as head of a household living at Mitchel's Land, Dean Street. William was 26 years of age and had been born in Kilmarnock. He worked as an engine keeper (calico). With him lived his wife, Margaret, and two young daughters, Jane aged 4 years, and Mary aged 2 years. Medical Notes: William's cause of death was certified by David McDonald MD. William married Margaret MITCHELL, daughter of James MITCHELL and Mary DUNLOP, November-December 1846 in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland.1 2 (Margaret MITCHELL was born on 17 March 1820 in Kilmarnock Parish, Ayrshire, Scotland 1 4 5 8 and died 24 March 1894 at 4.30 pm in 21 Dean Street, Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland 4 8 9.).
