In the 1891 census for Old Monkland, all Susan McIneray's details were the same as those of her husband, except that she had been born in Coatbridge, Scotland, and that she worked inside the home.

Susan was the informant of the death of her husband, Peter, who died in 153 Buchanan Street, Coatbridge in 1900. Susan was present where the death took place. In the registration of the death she made her X mark.

In 1901, the census recorded Susan McNairney, still living at 153 Buchanan Street in Coatbridge, as aged 35 years, a widow, and head of the house. Her birthplace was Coatbridge. She had three children aged between 3 years and 13 years of age. In the same household lived her sister, Catherine Windsor, aged 17 years, and born in Ireland; a boarder and general labourer, James Keenan, aged 34 years and Irish born; and another boarder, aged 8 years, and born in Ireland, Edward Drummond, who worked as a coal miner. 2 3


Susan married Peter McINEARNEY, son of John McINEARNEY and Bridget RYAN, on 1 October 1887 in Coatbridge, Lanarkshire, Scotland. (Peter McINEARNEY was born about 1867 in Ireland 2 and died 7 September 1900 at 11.30 pm in 153 Buchanan Street, Coatbridge, Lanarkshire, Scotland.). The cause of his death was pulmonary phtisis of 1 year's duration.


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage was celebrated according to the rites and forms of the Roman Catholic Church. The priest was Father Michael O'Keeffe CC, and the witnesses were Frank Hannaway and Anne McBeamish.

Peter McInearny was an iron work labourer of 23 years. He was a bachelor, and gave his address as Dundyvan Road, Coatbridge. The marriage certificate recorded his father, John, as deceased, though he actually did not die until 1899.

Susan Windsor was aged 23 years and unmarried. Her address was noted as 176 Buchanan Street, Coatbridge and her occupation as brick yard worker.

The marriage was registered on 4 October 1887 at Coatbridge, the registrar being David Young.
