  General Notes:

The 1871 census for Old Monkland parish recorded Hugh Windsor, a puddler by occupation, living as head of a household at 11 Buchanan Street Coatbridge. He was aged 38 years and had been born in Ireland. Also in the household were his wife Catherine, aged 37 years and born in Glasgow, and their six children ranging from John aged 16 years to Tessie Jane aged 3 years, all born locally.

In the marriage certificate of his daughter, Susan, in 1887, Hugh's occupation was recorded as 'puddler' ¹
