The 1861 census for Old Monkland recorded Catherine Windsor and her husband living in Buchanan Street Coatbridge with four children, and a family of lodgers named Lewis. Catherine was 37 years old, her husband 38 years. The children's ages ranged from John aged 6 years to Hugh aged 2 months. Catherine and her children were all born in Scotland - Catherine in Glasgow, the children in Coatbridge. Her husband was Irish born and worked as an iron puddler. ¹

MAIDEN SURNAME

Catherine's maiden surname is recorded in the marriage certificate of her daughter Susan in 1887 as 'McPartland'. In other birth documents of her children it was recorded as 'Savage'. ^{3 4}

Catherine married Hugh WINDSOR on 21 May 1854 in Glasgow, Scotland. (Hugh WINDSOR was born about 1833 in Ireland ^{1 2} and died after 1 October 1887.)
