  General Notes:

The baby's father, who was present where the birth occurred, registered his birth before William T. Rae, registrar, at Hamilton on 20 April 1896.

In 1901 the census recorded Samuel living with his family at 51 Viewpark Avenue, Bellshill, Lanarkshire. He was aged 5 years, a scholar, and had been born in Hamilton. He was the eldest child.

In the 1911 census Samuel was recorded living in Glasgow Road Burnbank with his family. He was aged 14 years and had been born in Hamilton. he worked in the coal mine, as a fitter of hutches.

S. Maxwell Walter's son, of 114a Cadzow Street Hamilton, who was present where the death occurred, gave notice of his father's death. ^{1 2 3}
