When his father, John George, died in Newmilns in 1888, Samuel George, who was present where the death occurred, was the informant of his death before the registrar at Newmilns on 7 December 1888.
When Samuel George died in 1923 his death certificate recorded that he was aged 64 years, and that he was the widower of 1] Janet Ritchie 2] Sarah McColl. He was a roadsurfaceman by occupation. His usual residence was noted as 9 Greenside, Newmilns. His parents were then both dead. 7 8
