FINLAY, Jean
Other names for Jean were FINDLAY, Jean 4 and GEORGE, Jean.4 5 General Notes: The 1861 census return for Galston, Ayrshire, recorded John and Jean George living in Church Lane with their two sons, John aged 12 years, and Samuel aged 2 years. John senior was a shoemaker, and John junior was a shoecloser. All were born in Ayrshire: the father at Riccarton, the mother and elder child in Kilmarnock, and the smaller child in Galston. There were two rooms in their house with at least one window. 3 Jean married John GEORGE, son of Moses GEORGE and Grace BROWN, on 9 October 1846 in Riccarton parish, Ayrshire, Scotland.1 (John GEORGE was born in 1826 in Riccarton parish, Ayrshire, Scotland 3 6 and died 6 December 1888 at 6.25 pm in Isles Street, Newmilns, Ayrshire, Scotland 7 8.). The cause of his death was bronchitis and debility. |
